SUSTAINABILITY
SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
The environment is incredibly important to us. The fashion industry is destroying our beautiful planet and so we have joined the slow fashion movement in hopes of changing the environment for the better. Transparency is the absolute most important way brands can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability.
ZERO WASTE
At CoolGirl sustainability is not a trend it is a true passion of ours and it is here to stay. We are a zero waste brand. This means that we keep all of our scraps and threads no matter how small and seemingly insignificant. This diverts waste from landfills and allows us to create unique, one of a kind pieces to add to your closet. This is the theory that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure in action.
MADE TO LAST
All your CoolGirl pieces are made to last. We use professional seam finishes to ensure your garments do not unravel and last as long as possible. We use high quality materials like spiral steel boning, sturdy metal grommets, long lasting fabrics, and as many natural fiber fabrics as possible. We sell quality so that you can buy less and get more.
DEADSTOCK AND LIMITED QUANTITIES
Our fabric is all deadstock and all our pieces are very limited quantities leaving no room for waste. Deadstock fabric is fabric that already exists and is sold by jobbers or middlemen. They buy up leftover fabric from mills and designers that could otherwise be headed to the landfill. This makes for super unique pieces as well as environmentally friendly.
NO MORE PLASTIC
We all know how incredibly harmful plastic is to the environment. We chose not to use it in any of our packaging. We use recyclable boxes to ship all of your orders. We do not ever wrap your items in plastic bags. We wrap your orders in recyclable tissue paper. Our thank you cards are made from recycled paper and can also be recycled. Our jewelry packaging is a recyclable paper envelope and uses a natural fiber cord to secure it. We opt for metal to replace plastic everywhere we can. We use spiral steel boning instead of plastic boning. We do use zippers with plastic teeth when using invisible zippers but stick to metal teeth when we can.
